Vivant Creations needed a display for a new line of bracelets they were producing and commissioned Stephen to help develop the concepts for a jewellery stand to hold them. Having already worked on much of Vivant's design and marketing, Franklin tapped into a recurring theme of their products - the tree of life. He created a whimsical flowing tree design which would eventually be made from clear acrylic plastic. Consequently, the tree-shaped stand was light and playful, with ample space to display Vivant's elegant range of bracelets and other jewellery items in their product range.

Stephen designed the end curls on each branch such that the bracelet or other jewellery products would nestle safely in place.

Franklin was inspired by the ornate style of Art Nouveau when creating the shape of the tree’s branches.

Manufactured in a clear acrylic, the two pieces slot together to form the tree shape.

Stephen played with the shape, size, and mechanics of the tree by sketching it out in pencil first. He then refined the outline of the design based on physical mock-ups.

A paper mock-up was created to determine the correct balance and depth of the bracelet holders.

Vivant Creations only had a few trees manufactured for use as display stands at trade shows.
